About me
Stacy Brown is the 21st Century Learning Coordinator at The Davis Academy in Atlanta, Georgia, where manages two media centers in a kindergarten prep through 8th grade academic environment. Recognized for facilitating the integration of technology into the curriculum, she leads #MakerMonday for PreK through 5th grade, teaches a fourth grade programming & robotics class, developed a 5th grade entrepreneurship and technology course, and leads teachers’ professional development in the area of technology integration. Stacy earned her Master’s in Library and Information Sciences from Florida State University and her Bachelor of Arts in English with a Minor in French from The University of Texas at Austin. Stacy has led many initiatives focusing on 21st century learning skills such as Add Flavor to Your Classroom by Filling Your Plate with 21st Century Tools (Martin Institute, Summer 2015), Social Media in the Classroom (Atlanta Tech Forum, Spring 2015), Want To Be A Maker? (Atlanta Tech Forum, Spring 2015), Digital Citizenship: From Birth Certificate to Diploma (GaETC, Fall 2014), Reading ReKindled: Where Technology and Book Clubs Come Together (GaETC, Fall 2014), Bytes of Technology: Integrating Technology into A School Media Center Program (Texas Library Association, Spring 2013), Teaching Digital Natives Professional Development Strand (Online Facilitation, Fall 2011-Spring 2012), and Incorporating Twitter into the Admissions Process (National Jewish Day School Conference, Fall 2012). Stacy inspires a thoughtful use of technology, an enthusiasm for reading, and a lifelong interest in learning through both her personal and professional achievements.
